Prayer Request

Well, now that we have jobs we are more actively looking for a house. As I mentioned in my last post, we found one that is very affordable and would be a great fit for our family. However, housing this affordable usually doesn't stay on the market long. So our prayer request is that we would be able to come up with the money needed for first/last months rent quickly so that we can secure this house and move in.

Kent and Jodie have been more than hospitable, and have told us that we are welcome to stay with them as long as we need to, but I'm sure they would like their house back to normal. It's a new experience for them to have 7 extra people in their home. And as all parents know, it's an adjustment to go from one child in the home to 5 children in the home.

They have been great and we are really enjoying this time to get to know them better, but the kids need us in a home of our own as soon as we can. It will help them to feel settled and make the move seem finished, rather than knowing that we still have a move to make when we get our house.

So please join us as we pray that God keep that home available until we have the money together to secure it. Thank you all for your prayers!! I'll keep you posted!

More Exciting News!

Well, not only did I get the job with M&T Bank, Jonathan is working for Rexair, Inc. and Aaron got a job with McDonald's today!! He goes to orientation Tuesday. We are really excited about this and hope to be getting in to a house of our own soon.

We're continuing to pray for an affordable house to open up/stay open until we have the money together for the deposit/1st months rent, etc. We looked at one not long ago and as of today it is still available. It is big enough for us all and would be a pretty good fit for us. It's in a good area, close to both schools that the kids go to. I am hoping that it will still be available for us, unless God has something better just as affordable.

Oh, and we had a REALLY good morning! We had minimal tears and no fits. It was great. Cadence has started riding the bus to and from school and the younger three will soon start riding the bus home. Pray that goes well for us as Melody has struggled with riding the bus in the past. They are all pretty excited about it. They are looking forward to Jodie keeping them in the afternoons until Jonathan and I get off work and I am so glad that they will have such good care.

I know that Jodie will take great care of them, just like she does her own son. It's a huge relief knowing that they will be cared for by someone who shares our beliefs. Especially since it's their first "day care" experience.

I guess I'll close for now. Keep us in your prayers! We miss everyone.

Flying out

Well, I'm sitting at the airport waiting on my flight to St. Louis for Kelly's memorial service. While I am looking forward to seeing all the family I wish it were under different circumstances.

We are all going to miss Kelly so much. I am so sad that my children didn't know the Kelly that Heather and I grew up with.

The kids are struggling with me being gone this weekend, so soon after our move, but they have been handling the move very well. They have adjusted better than I hoped. We do have occasional struggles, but they are doing great for the most part.

Harmony had a great birthday yesterday. We had cake and presents with our family, Kent, Jodie, and Asher, and Jen. It was really nice.

I guess that's enough random rambling for now!

First week in DE!!

Well, we had our first week in Lewes, DE!! The kids had a GREAT first day!! We had NO tears, or fits, or fussing! It was wonderful to say the least!! It has been a great week. I interviewed for a job at a local bank and Jonathan has an interview Thursday at 12:30. Please be in prayer for that. Beanz has an interview Friday as well.

All of the kids made friends as soon as they walked in the door of their class Friday morning and they all love their teachers! It's so exciting. Harmony's teacher even called Sun. night to make sure Harmony had a good day Friday and was adjusting well to the move. How sweet is that? Cadence's school had their open house tonight, so I finally got to meet them. They all seem very nice and say she has picked up on everything very well. The Junior High Cadence attends has their first dance of the year coming up on the 26th. We're still debating whether or not to let her go, so pray for that! Lol.

Seaside Church gave us a "pounding" Sunday morning to welcome us. They were very generous and we appreciate it so much. We have been welcomed with open arms and more generousity than we could have even imagined!! God has truly blessed us in this move. It is abundantly clear that we are exactly where He wants us to be.
