Pictures of our house!!!!!!!!

I know the pictures aren't the best, but they give you a glimpse of everything except the bathrooms in our new house!! I'll try to get some pics of the kids playing in the yard later this week. Glad I could share our new home with all of our friends and family! Especially since so many of you are too far away to come visit.

The New House!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I know it's been awhile and I am so sorry. It has been a very interesting last month or two. I was very ill and hospitalized for about a week, stayed very ill for over a month and had at least one of the kids sick everyday for most of that time as well. What fun!! LOL!!

The good news is that while I was off work because of my illness I was able to go with Jonathan to house hunt. We were very blessed to find a great house in a quiet neighborhood on a 1/2 acre lot (very rare to find a lot that size in DE) for a very reasonable price!!! The house is 4 bedroom, 2 bath and has 2 living areas. We are using the 2nd living area as an "apartment" for Aaron and he is thankful to have his own space. He's got his bedroom set up in there as well as having an area for a "living room" of sorts, with his tv and a recliner. Our living room has a gas fireplace!!! It was very nice to be able to turn it on while it was snowing outside. The kitchen has 2 skylights, which I am very much enjoying. It is so nice to be able to look up and see the sky, moon, and stars. It was really neat to look at the snow crystals on the skylights too!!! We put Jonathan K. in one room, Cadence in one, and Melody and Harmony are sharing the larger room. We are all enjoying having so much space to move around, especially after being a little cramped in the basement for our first 6 months here.

We are very greatful that we had the basement when we moved up here, but we are SO blessed to finally be in our own home. I'll be posting pictures and hopefully a video of the new house soon. And I promise to keep up with my blog better now that we are in our own home!!!!!!!!

Finally updating, sorry it's taken so long

Hello all! I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to update, I've been having computer issues.

So, we're still living in a basement and trying to find a house. There are homes available, it's more an issue of the expense involved with getting into a place.

The kids are doing well. They have all adjusted to school well. We are trying to get Melody an appointment with the behaviorial management group at AI Dupont Children's Medical Center to hopefully get a better understanding of what we can do to help her. She has some terrets(?) Like symptoms and severe anxiety about school and we really want to help her as best we can.

I am still loving my job!! It's great. Jonathan's still working hard while looking for a better position at the same time.

Aaron is doing great at McDonald's. He's workin hard!!

I think that pretty well sums it up!! I'll try to post some pics of the kids in the fall leaves soon!! Love you all!!

Prayer Request

Well, now that we have jobs we are more actively looking for a house. As I mentioned in my last post, we found one that is very affordable and would be a great fit for our family. However, housing this affordable usually doesn't stay on the market long. So our prayer request is that we would be able to come up with the money needed for first/last months rent quickly so that we can secure this house and move in.

Kent and Jodie have been more than hospitable, and have told us that we are welcome to stay with them as long as we need to, but I'm sure they would like their house back to normal. It's a new experience for them to have 7 extra people in their home. And as all parents know, it's an adjustment to go from one child in the home to 5 children in the home.

They have been great and we are really enjoying this time to get to know them better, but the kids need us in a home of our own as soon as we can. It will help them to feel settled and make the move seem finished, rather than knowing that we still have a move to make when we get our house.

So please join us as we pray that God keep that home available until we have the money together to secure it. Thank you all for your prayers!! I'll keep you posted!

More Exciting News!

Well, not only did I get the job with M&T Bank, Jonathan is working for Rexair, Inc. and Aaron got a job with McDonald's today!! He goes to orientation Tuesday. We are really excited about this and hope to be getting in to a house of our own soon.

We're continuing to pray for an affordable house to open up/stay open until we have the money together for the deposit/1st months rent, etc. We looked at one not long ago and as of today it is still available. It is big enough for us all and would be a pretty good fit for us. It's in a good area, close to both schools that the kids go to. I am hoping that it will still be available for us, unless God has something better just as affordable.

Oh, and we had a REALLY good morning! We had minimal tears and no fits. It was great. Cadence has started riding the bus to and from school and the younger three will soon start riding the bus home. Pray that goes well for us as Melody has struggled with riding the bus in the past. They are all pretty excited about it. They are looking forward to Jodie keeping them in the afternoons until Jonathan and I get off work and I am so glad that they will have such good care.

I know that Jodie will take great care of them, just like she does her own son. It's a huge relief knowing that they will be cared for by someone who shares our beliefs. Especially since it's their first "day care" experience.

I guess I'll close for now. Keep us in your prayers! We miss everyone.

Flying out

Well, I'm sitting at the airport waiting on my flight to St. Louis for Kelly's memorial service. While I am looking forward to seeing all the family I wish it were under different circumstances.

We are all going to miss Kelly so much. I am so sad that my children didn't know the Kelly that Heather and I grew up with.

The kids are struggling with me being gone this weekend, so soon after our move, but they have been handling the move very well. They have adjusted better than I hoped. We do have occasional struggles, but they are doing great for the most part.

Harmony had a great birthday yesterday. We had cake and presents with our family, Kent, Jodie, and Asher, and Jen. It was really nice.

I guess that's enough random rambling for now!
